Young Roots Scholarship

The Young Roots Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors who plan to return and build their careers in a rural community. Students pursuing a future in agriculture after graduation is a major plus.

Eligibility for the Young Roots Scholarship

To apply to the Young Roots Scholarship, you must meet each of the requirements below.

  • Be a high school senior scheduled to graduate in 2026 for the Young Roots Scholarship

  • Reside in one of Alabama Farm Credit’s participating regions

  • Submit a current high school transcript (official or unofficial)

  • Submit a 2026 application. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

  • Submit an essay (see application for essay topic)

  • Completed applications must be received by February 6, 2026
